Former Gujarat chief minister Chhabildas Mehta passed away on Saturday at Sal Hosptal in Ahmedabad. Chhabildas Mehta (84) had complicated prostrate problems.

Chhabildas mehta served as a Chief Minster of Gujarat state for 13 months from 13 months from February 17, 1994 to March 14, 1995 After Chimanbhai Patel’s Death.

Governor Naval Kishore Sharma, Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Speaker Ashok Bhatt expressed condolences at Mehta’s demise. In their condolence messages, they recalled his role in Maha Gujarat movement which led to the formation of separate Gujarat state in 1960.
