Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) is planning to build two amusement parks at Aji and Nyari dam sites under the guidance and help of Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB). The projects, worth approximately Rs 200 crore, will be developed under PPP.

ONGC’s proposal to set up a Special Economic Zone for petro-chemical units in Gujarat has got the green signal from an Environment Ministry panel.
In a recent meeting, Environment Ministry’s Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) recommended the ONGC’s proposed Dahej SEZ in Bharuch in Gujarat for environment clearance.

Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), the flagship company of GSPC Group involved in exploration and production (E&P), has put its public offer plans on a fast track and is aiming to hit the capital markets by May.
The state government is planning to dilute about 10-15 per cent in a bid to raise about Rs 3,000-3,500 crore, said government sources close to the development.

National Khadi and Cottage Industries Board has organised a A national Khadi Festival with 225 stalls from all over the country .
The month-long Khadi Utsav-09 will house artisans and cottage industries from all over India. The khadi festival aimed at providing maximum benefit to Khadi industry workers. Apart from apparels, various handicraft items and consumer durables will be sold during Khadi Utsav-09 . “This is for the first time that such a large scale event has been organised in Surat.
“Our aim is to link more people with Khadi and provide employment in rural areas,” Manu Mehta, chairman of Khadi Utsav -09, said.

Around 45,000 Patidar farmers in Unjha have taken a pledge to switch over to drip irrigation to conserve water. The pledge was taken in presence pf Chief Minister of Gujarat Shree Narendra bhai modi on Saturday evening at the massive 18th centenary celebration of Umiya Maa temple at Unjha. Another 45,000 are expected to take the oath soon, taking the number to almost a lakh.
Narayan patel , a local BJP MLA and one of the organisers of 18th centenary celebration of Umiya Maa temple at Unjha said that this pledge will bring Green revolution to Gujarat state.
An exhibition on Drip irrigation will also take place in Unjha during this event.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Tests Positive for Swine flu.
Narendra Modi has just returned from russia. He had gone there with some industrialists and ministers.
Following confirmation, Modi has been put under swine flu medication and quarantined at his own official residence here. All his appointments have been cancelled and he will be in isolation for a week.
The swine flu (H1N1) virus first emerged in Mexico in April and has since spread to many countries. More than 450 people have died of swine flu in India since this summer.
The number of swine flu cases in India has climbed to more than 13,000 - they have been reported from 28 states, including Gujarat. The virus is thought to have killed more than 3,000 people around the world.
So far, 40 people have died of the flu in Gujarat and several hundred have been infected, officials say.
A state government release said Mr Modi had been on medication and all his engagements for the next few days have been cancelled.
