Surat Municipal Corporation approves water supply project
Surat Municipal Corporation has approved A Rs201 crore water supply project for the newly merged area of South-East zone of SMC. A population of 2.2 lakh in nine villages of the zone will get benefit of this water suppy project the project which is expected get operational in June 2010. The project has received nod under JNNURM and tenders are about to be floated for the work.
The Surat Water Supply Project has been designed as per the requirement of 2026, when the population is projected to increase to over 4.5 lakh.
SMC - Surat Municipal Corporation will start the work on project after October 2009 and would be completed in June 2010. Tenders for the project would be floated shortly.
